Warranty

Rustic furniture is a very characteristic brand of furniture. We have a saying that "regular furniture is a science, while rustic furniture is an art." Therefore, our furniture is often abstract and different due to beautiful curves, wood checking, knots, warps, and inconsistencies in measurements and spacing. We hope that you will appreciate this uniqueness and realize that this is the type of furniture we build. We are careful to build very solid and sturdy furniture and we do not expect out customers to ignore actual problems that rarely occur with their furniture. We do hope they will not mistake art and beauty for a flaw instead of the rusticity that it really is. Fortunately, the majority of our customers are appreciative for our designs and love and enjoy the uniqueness of their rustic log furniture. Enjoy your new rustic log furniture!

The GoodTimber, inc. strives to provide its customers with high quality furniture and superior customer service. You can rest assured that we value you as our customer and we will strive to provide you with furniture you will enjoy.

The GoodTimber provides to the original retail purchaser the following limited warranty on furniture purchased from the GoodTimber and used under normal circumstances (i.e. normal residential use).

GoodTimber furniture is guaranteed to be free from structural defects in manufacturing for a period of 5 years. Please be aware that all log furniture is naturally subject to the process of "checking". Checking occurs mostly on the surface of the wood as moisture is released over time. However, checking can range from slight slivers to deep cracks running the full length of the log and into the heart of the wood. It DOES NOT affect the strength or structural integrity of the wood. It simply adds to the uniqueness and rustic quality of the furniture. Therefore, checking and knots are not considered defects.

If, at any time during the warranty period, problems or defects occur due to the materials used that render the product incapable of performing its function, the GoodTimber will repair or replace the affected piece at no charge to the customer. HOWEVER, CUSTOMERS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING COSTS.

Items not covered under this warranty include, but are not limited to, slight variations in the wood that occur through normal expansion and contraction over time. Normal wear and tear, or damages that occur due to improper use, improper care, accidents, abuse or negligence. Please be aware that although it is rare, all log furniture has the posibility of containing pests that resided in the logs before they were harvested. We at the GoodTimber take every precaution to ensure all pests are removed from the logs by air drying them and spraying them before construction of our furniture. If you find a log or piece of lumber that still contains these pests, we will replace it free of charge. We will not be liabile for consequential damages from these pests, however. (This remedy is only available for furniture to which a finish or stain is applied within 7 days of receiving the furniture as pests will normally not attack finished or stained furniture.)

The remedies provided in this article are exclusive and to the extent allowed by applicable law are in lieu of all other remedies, warranties or representations, express or implied or statutory, including but not limited to any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, product availability, order fulfillment time and all other obligations and liabilities, whether in contract or in tort all of which are expressly disclaimed. In no event shall the GoodTimber be liable for indirect, special or consequential or any other damages related to warranty of product or delivery timing.

This warranty is valid only in the continental United States and only on the GoodTimber. This warranty does not apply to furniture designed for outdoor use or furniture to which a finish or stain is not applied in a timely manner (i.e. before use and/or within 7 days of receipt of furniture).

Your Rights. This Warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow the exclusions and limitations on incidental and consequential damages or the limitations on implied warranties, so the above limitations may not apply to you. Proper care and use are essential for preserving your rights under this warranty.

If you find a problem with your GoodTimber furniture that you feel is covered by this warranty, please contact us. You will need proof of purchase (i.e. your original sales receipt) to initiate your claim.

The sole remedies provided by the GoodTimber under this warranty to a customer will be to repair or replace the defective part or product. The GoodTimber reserves the right to decide the appropriate remedy. If we decide to replace a product that cannot be exactly duplicated, we will replace it with a comparable product. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
